Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) falsely claimed on Newsmax that former President Donald Trump won’t be charged with any crimes if he does not show up in Manhattan criminal court, and that any charges would “blow over.”
Indictments do not require the accused to appear in court as he or she can be charged in absentia.
Rep. Tenney also falsely claimed in February 2018 — after the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida — that “so many of these people that commit the mass murders end up being Democrats,” noted The New York Times.
In 2016, Rep. Tenney falsely claimed that man-made climate change was not “certain” or “determined,” reported WRVO.
Rep. Tenney falsely suggested in 2021 that the 2020 presdeintial election may have been “stolen,” noted CNN.
