A self-proclaimed “anti-vaxxer,” Philly Baird, is one of 25 people who ended up in an ICU in San Joaquin County, California with COVID-19.
Baird explained his science denial to KCRA while fighting to breathe at Doctor’s Medical in Manteca:
I was an idiot. I didn’t get the shot, I believed in all the [anti-vaccination] hoopla. It’s not going to stop you from getting COVID, don’t be stupid. It’s just going to prevent you from fighting minute-by-minute to be with your loved ones.
