President Donald Trump called Americans from Somalia “garbage” during a Cabinet meeting on Dec. 2, notes CNN and POLITICO:
They contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country. We can go one way or the other, and we’re going to go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country.
Trump also attacked Somali Americans on Dec. 3 at an Oval Office event:
Somalians should be out of here. They’ve destroyed our country.
Border czar Tom Homan supported Trump in an interview with CNN on Dec. 7, notes Newsbreak:
Well, look, I, you know, I’m not aware what President Trump was thinking when he said that, but I agree with President Trump.
