An unidentified thief was filmed loading a garbage bag, and biking out of a Walgreens store in San Francisco, California. Some on Twitter, including KGO-TV reporter Lyanne Melendez, blamed the security guard for not risking his life to stop the crook, while others defended the guard.
What do you want done? If I walk into a Costco or 7-11 and just take everything from an aisle in less than a minute, no one can really stop me. Most thefts go this way since police are not in hidden kiosks in every store. Lyanne, you can do this RIGHT NOW anywhere on Earth.

The security guard got it all video and no store patron was injured in the process. Win-Win. The video will be circulated throughout the Bay Area Law enforcement. Dude is screwed.

This was handled correctly.
UnREAL to me that everybody there just lets the guy stroll out. Like, “Not my problem”.

I’ll say it again; this would end in about 30 seconds in a flyover state. Somebody would knock the guy’s teeth out.
No one got hurt and they have his face. No ones life is worth protecting Walgreen’s merchandise 🤷♂️

What’s the point of the security guard? Please tell me he’s required to do more than film and “try” to take the merch back …
