The Republican National Committee (RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel above) has deleted a website page from the 2020 campaign that said: “Trump has continued to take the lead in peace talks as he signed a historic peace agreement with the Taliban in Afghanistan, which would end America’s longest war,” notes The Week.
The Washington Post reported the deals made by the Afghanistan military forces with the Taliban:
The deals “were often described by Afghan officials as cease-fires, but Taliban leaders were in fact offering money in exchange for government forces to hand over their weapons,” and “over the next year and a half, the meetings advanced to the district level and then rapidly on to provincial capitals, culminating in a breathtaking series of negotiated surrenders by government forces.”
