Dr. Mayrol Juarez, of the Mercy Hospital Springfield in Missouri (video below), told NBC News that unvaccinated people are truly “shocked” when they end up hospitalized because of COVID:
A comment they make all the time is that they wish that they knew they were going to end up in the hospital this sick and they would have made a different choice and got the vaccine.
Eric Frederick, chief administrative officer for the hospital, said he knows of patients who flat-out deny the existence of COVID:
This isn’t the boogeyman. This isn’t something we made up to get a rise out of people. There are 120 real human beings in the hospital right now struggling with this illness. … And every one will tell you — this isn’t fake.
NBC News reported that most counties in Missouri have less than a 40 percent vaccination rate.
