A group of right wing pastors and personalities joined former President Donald Trump on an “emergency prayer call” to ask God to free Trump from 34 felony charges on April 4. The charges stem around hush money payments Trump reportedly made through his former lawyer Michael Cohen to silence porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal who had sex with Trump during his marriage Melania Trump.
Rolling Stone reports the religious leaders included: Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, Christian Nationalist worship leader Sean Feucht, former acting attorney general Matt Whitaker, former congress member Michele Bachmann, Pastor Jim Garlow, radio host Eric Metaxas, Trump’s longtime religious adviser Paula White Cain and Pastor John Bennett, the recent-former chair of the Oklahoma Republican party.
Feucht, who held unmasked concerts throughout the COVID pandemic, asked “prayer warriors” to “rise up” on Trump’s behalf:
