Former President Donald Trump — who claims to be “pro-life” — praised fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter “as a wonderful man” during a rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, on May 11 according to Forbes Breaking News.
Trump referred to the serial killer as “late [and] great” while attacking immigrants, reports The Guardian.
The Philadelphia Inquirer described “pickup trucks decked out in Trump flags” that camped overnight on the boardwalk to hear Trump, who was found liable for raping E. Jean Carroll.
Kelly Carter-Currier, a 62-year-old retired teacher from New Hampshire, explained her support for the rapist who is currently charged with over 90 felonies: “The country is headed in the wrong direction. So, hopefully, people will get their shit together and vote the right person in. And if they don’t, I don’t know. World War III?”
However, Philadelphia Inquirer journalist Aliya Schneider and USA TODAY journalist Zac Anderson noted on Twitter that the crowd began thinning considerably as Trump spoke.

Trump is still speaking in Wildwood but much of the crowd has left. It’s cold and he’s been speaking 90 minutes. This whole area was full of people when Trump started. pic.twitter.com/r75Gwhwhf1
