Pardoned Jan. 6 rioter Jake Lang held a “Stop the Steal” rally for failed MAGA Mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt in downtown Los Angeles. Pratt has falsely claimed there was election fraud while admitting there was no actual evidence.
Raw Story reports a video from the rally showed a man identified by rallygoers as Jon Mellis, a pardoned Capitol rioter known online as @PatriotWildMan, punching a woman.
D.C. activist Brianne Chapman aka Anarc-y princess posted video of the assault on Twitter/X:
As expected, things have gone completely nuts. JON MELLIS IS PUNCHING WOMEN AND THE PRESS! Some kid protecting Jake Lang has a taser. It’s madness. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/c7NRoNN6v1

NPR reported about Mellis’ criminal history:
Mellis had a previous felony criminal conviction for drug trafficking — conspiracy to manufacture or sell methamphetamine — which resulted in a 20-year prison sentence, court documents state. Prosecutors said he also had a history of arrests, which did not result in conviction, including for domestic assault.
In 2023, Mellis pleaded guilty to “Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers Using a Dangerous Weapon” and agreed as part of his plea that he used a large wooden stick to “repeatedly strike or stab” police officers on Jan. 6.
CBS News noted Lang’s criminal history:
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 31-year-old Lang was arrested Tuesday after getting off a flight in Dallas on one third-degree felony count of making a terroristic threat. He was booked into the Dallas County Jail.
