ICE agents killed an unidentified young man in Biddeford, Maine, on July 13, reported WGME.
“The motorist killed by ICE officers in a Maine shooting Monday was not the target of the warrant the officers were executing, Sen. Angus King (I-ME) said Homeland Security Secretary Mullin told him,” notes the Associated Press.

A witness named Lucas Scott told the Biddeford Gazette that he was driving by the intersection of Pool and Hill streets about 7:20 a.m. when he saw an unmarked Ford Explorer with flashing lights and two officers wearing green ICE vests. Scott said he heard four shots after the officers surrounded a white sedan with weapons drawn.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullen used the same excuse that is used for all ICE killings, claiming the man had supposedly “weaponized” his vehicle and had to be executed. The same excuse was recently used during a ICE killing in Houston, and proven to be false by surveillance video.
Sen. King said there is no body camera footage of the encounter:
Body cameras were not on the agents. So we have no video evidence of what occurred in this case. We don’t know the circumstances at this point…
Project Relief, a racial justice and immigrant rights advocacy group, said one of their community members was killed by ICE:
We are in contact with the family and are committed to supporting them during this unimaginable time. This was a young person whose life was cut short, and our community must come together to stand with their loved ones and ensure they are not alone. They must get justice.
A protest against ICE is planned for Monday at Mechanics Park in Biddeford, according to WABI-TV. ICE and the Department of Homeland Security refused to comment.
