Former US Attorney General Pam Bondi is trying to avoid testifying next week before the House Oversight Committee about the Jeffrey Epstein files that she once claimed to have on her desk and about her non-compliance with US law to release the files.
The Department of Justice said Bondi will not testify before the House Oversight Committee, but Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) told CNN that the House still has the votes to get Bondi to testify:
I’m confident Pam Bondi will eventually show up. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and I drafted the subpoena, and it was for Pam Bondi as an individual, not Pam Bondi as Attorney General.
We still have the votes to get her to be able to testify. And we’ll have another vote. Look, I know Jim Comer. I like him on a personal basis, but he was Captain Ahab in chasing Hillary Clinton to testify.
And Hillary Clinton has been out of office for 20 years. So certainly he can have Pam Bondi come and testify and answer why they haven’t released the Epstein files.
