Former Acting CDC Director Dr. Richard Besser told MSNBC that Dr. Susan Monarez was fired by Presieent Donald Trump as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) because she refused to do something illegal and sign off on anything contrary to science:
What she said to me was that — she said that she would never do anything that was illegal, and that she would never do anything that flew in the face of science. And that, on Monday, she was asked to do both of those things.
