Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) told MSNBC how President Donald Trump and Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson are allowing SNAP benefits to expire on Nov. 1, leaving 42 million poor Americans without food:

Not only is Donald Trump not here, not negotiating, Mike Johnson has now shut down the House for 39 consecutive days… There’s no one to negotiate with. Across town, Trump is building a $300 million ballroom while he is set to let Americans starve.
