The school board in Conway, Arkansas, banned two books about transgender youths and banned transgender bathrooms, while one speaker said LGBT people “are worthy of death” on Oct. 11, which drew applause (video below), notes the Arkansas Times:
Speakers from the public tonight ranged from a Baptist preacher (Guess which side he was on) to a man who read extensively from the New Testament book of Romans, specifically chapter one in which the Apostle Paul warns of men burning “in their lust one toward another” and committing “such things” that they “are worthy of death.”
A former teacher, Tami Marsh, somehow weaved former President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton — both disliked by Arkansas’s right wing — into her speech.
