U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were filmed wrestling ICU nurse Alex Pretti to the ground, striking him with what looked like a firearm, and then fatally shooting him in Minneapolis, Minnesota, reports CNN.
Security analyst Rob D’Amico, a former Marine and FBI agent, told MS NOW that Pretti was going to the aid of a woman who has been knocked down by ICE agents, who then pepper sprayed Pretti, wrestled him to the ground, and shot him:
But at no time. And from the first video, when he’s on all fours, when the subject’s on all fours, I didn’t see a gun in his hands either.
The independent news site Bellingcat confirmed D’Amico’s observation that Pretti did not pull a gun on ICE agents as claimed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS):
Video of the shooting appears to show that a gun was taken from the man BEFORE THE FIRST shot was fired. At least 10 shots being heard in total. Most of them are fired after a brief delay, when the man is already lying motionless on the ground.

The Minnesota Star Tribune reports ICE agents tried to keep Minneapolis police officers away from the shooting scene, but Chief Brian O’Hara refused. Sources said O’Hara told his officers to preserve the scene. All available local police officers have been called into work.
