CNN host Jake Tapper was surprised to learn that 34-time felon President Donald Trump is considering pardoning Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for child sex trafficking.
CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins asked Trump whether he was considering pardoning Maxwell, and Trump responded: “”I haven’t heard the name in so long. I would have to take a look at it.”
Tapper played footage of Trump on his show “The Lead” and said: “That’s sure bizarre!”
Observers and political pundits have speculated that Trump would offer Maxwell a pardon in exchange for information he could use against his political opponents, instead of releasing the all of the Epstein files.
