“Shadow president” billionaire Elon Musk, who donated a quarter of a billion dollars to the campaign of President-elect Donald Trump, successfully lobbied to stop a continuing resolution bill in the House that would fund the U.S. government, reported CNN:
Musk also appeared to issue an electoral threat to members of Congress who vote for the bill, writing “Any member of the House or Senate who votes for this outrageous spending bill deserves to be voted out in 2 years!” He also urged his followers to call their representatives to “stop the steal of your tax dollars.”
Business Insider noted Musk wants to shut the U.S. government down until Trump takes office, disregarding the damage it would do:
In a post on X on Wednesday afternoon, Elon Musk endorsed the idea of shutting the government down until January 20, the date that President-elect Donald Trump is set to be sworn into office.
