U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro held a bizarre press conference abut her charging David “Davey” Hearn, 67, a three-time Olympic canoeist, with a felony charge of destruction of property for allegedly violently ripping sealant from the Reflecting Pool in Washington D.C.. Pirro failed to provide any evidence that Hearn damaged the Reflecting Pool.
Hearn told the BBC that he touched pool material that had already been damaged and he had been curious about the state of the pool, and was was detained by at the pool’s edge as he was finishing a long bike ride.
Q: Was this part of the pool already damaged? Hearn maintains the sealant was already partially moved and it looks the same as it did before he arrived.

PIRRO: You know, I'm not going to get into the evidence. Come to the trial. Come to the grand jury and you can testify. pic.twitter.com/aTBPa0rzNU
Hearn’s lawyer Norm Eisen issued a statement.
